Quick answer: Clinics can order positioning wedges, bolsters and replacement table top pads made to exact sizes and angles, with firm foam and wipe-clean covers such as Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl or Ultraleather. Wedges and odd shapes are quoted from a drawing, and your clinical team decides how each piece is used.

Clinic supplies often come in a few fixed sizes and colors. When you want a wedge at a particular angle, a bolster that fits a specific table, or a set of pads that match your waiting room, made to measure is simpler. This guide is for physical therapy, chiropractic and sports therapy clinics, and the facilities teams and designers who fit them out. Send sizes and drawings through our bulk cushion enquiry form for a quote.

We are a cushion workroom, not a medical supplier. We make foam shapes to the size and cover you specify. The table or frame, and any clinical or regulatory requirements, are the buyer's responsibility.

What clinics order

  • Positioning wedges: made to the length, width and angle on your drawing. See our custom-shaped cushions page for how shapes are quoted.
  • Bolsters: round and half-round bolsters in your chosen diameter and length. Browse our bolsters and pillows collection.
  • Table top pads: replacement pads for the top of existing treatment tables.
  • Waiting-room cushions: bench and banquette cushions for reception areas.
  • Floor and mat-area cushions: square or rectangle floor cushions for exercise spaces.

Specifying a custom wedge

Wedges and other odd shapes are custom shapes, quoted after we see a drawing or template.

  1. Base length and width: the footprint of the wedge.
  2. High-end height and low-end height: these set the angle. Give the low end as a number, even if it is close to zero.
  3. Firmness: tell us how firm the wedge should feel. Firm high-density foam holds the angle best.
  4. Cover: choose the fabric and where the zip should sit, usually along the base.
  5. Quantity: list how many of each size and angle you need.

Custom shapes take 5 to 6 weeks from template approval. A spec sheet with a drawing is approved by you before anything is cut.

Table top pads

If your table frames are sound but the padding is worn, a new top pad can extend their life. Measure the top surface, note any cutouts, and send photos of how the old pad attaches. We make the pad to size with a zipped cover, and ties in matching fabric are standard, with Velcro on request. We do not add non-slip backing. Thickness goes up to 8 inches in our builder, but most table pads are much thinner. The table frame, its weight rating and its fixings stay the buyer's responsibility.

Foam and fabric

  • HD36-R: firm high-density foam that holds its shape for wedges, bolsters and table pads.
  • Lux-R: a premium high-resilience grade with a 7-year foam warranty, good for waiting-room seats.
  • CertiPUR-US: our US foam is CertiPUR-US certified, from The Foam Factory, and made without added flame-retardant chemicals.
Cover Cleaning Good fit
Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl Wipe-clean Wedges, bolsters, table pads
Ultraleather by Ultrafabrics Wipe with mild soap and water Table pads, premium treatment rooms
Sunbrella upholstery fabric Spot clean; zipped covers come off to wash Waiting-room benches and lounge seating

Browse colors in our Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl collection. Clean every cover according to the fabric maker's guidance, and check with them before using any disinfectant or strong cleaner, because some chemicals can damage vinyl and leather-look surfaces over time.

Waiting rooms

Reception seating sets the tone for a visit. Bench and banquette cushions in a wipe-clean fabric, matched to your treatment room colors, make a clinic feel considered. Our medical waiting room cushions page covers reception seating in more detail. If your building has fire requirements for upholstered seating, tell us, and we will attach the maker's test reports for the fabric you choose.

Setting a standard across treatment rooms

Clinics with several rooms or locations work faster when every room has the same set. Pick a standard kit, then reorder it as you grow.

  • Define the kit: for example, one wedge, two bolsters and a table top pad per room, in sizes your team agrees on.
  • Choose one cover color: it keeps rooms looking consistent and makes spare covers interchangeable.
  • Keep spares: a few spare covers let you swap a damaged one without taking a piece out of service.
  • Record the spec: we keep approved spec sheets on file, so a new location can order the same kit by name.
  • Review yearly: check foam firmness and cover condition, and replace covers or foam separately as needed.

Bolster sizing tips

Bolsters are usually specified by diameter and length. Measure the width of your treatment tables first, so a bolster laid across the table does not overhang far on either side. Many clinics keep two or three diameters on hand rather than one. Half-round and other non-standard profiles can be quoted from a drawing. If you are replacing existing bolsters, measure an old one end to end and around its widest point, and tell us whether it has softened with age, so we can match the size you actually want rather than the worn one.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Sending a wedge angle without both end heights.
  • Choosing soft foam for a shape that needs to hold an angle.
  • Using cleaners the fabric maker does not approve.
  • Ordering a table pad without checking how the old one attached.
  • Expecting a cushion supplier to confirm clinical suitability. That decision stays with your team.

How a commercial order works

  1. Send drawings, sizes, photos and quantities to operation@fabricakraft.com or through our clinic cushion enquiry form.
  2. Order swatches. They are $7 each, and the cost is credited back with a one-time code on your order.
  3. Approve the spec sheet and drawing for every shape.
  4. Production takes 2 to 3 weeks for standard shapes and 5 to 6 weeks for custom shapes. Rush production and express shipping are available at extra cost.
  5. ACH or bank transfer can be arranged case by case for business orders.

Every piece is made within ±0.5 inch of the ordered size, or we remake it free. Fabric carries a 5-year warranty from our fabric partners and workmanship carries 2 years. Clinic groups and designers who order regularly can join our trade program. See our commercial cushion services for other spaces.
