Everything we make is cut to your numbers, so a few careful minutes with a tape measure gives you a perfect fit. Measure in inches and round to the nearest 1/4". If you're unsure, send us your measurements and a photo before you order and we'll check them.
Cushions
Measure the seat or frame, not the old cushion. Old cushions flatten and shrink with use. Note the width, the depth (front to back) and the thickness you want.
- Replacement outdoor cushions
- Couch and sofa cushions
- Window seat cushions, including bay windows
- Bench cushions
- Chaise lounge cushions
- Boat cushions and templates
Curtains
Put the rod or track up first, then measure from it. Use a metal tape, not a cloth one.
1. Width
- Measure the length of the rod between the finials (the decorative ends).
- For a full, gathered look, order panels that add up to about 2× the rod width. For a flatter, more tailored look, about 1.5× is enough.
- Example: a 100" rod needs about 200" of total curtain width, such as four 50" panels.
2. Length
- Tab top and back tab: measure from the top of the rod to where you want the curtain to end.
- Rod pocket: measure from the top of the rod and add about 1" so the rod slides in easily.
- Floor length: subtract about 1/2" so the hem just clears the floor. For a puddled look, add 2–4".
- Outdoor curtains: measure to the deck or patio and subtract about 1" so the hem stays out of rainwater and dirt.
3. Choose your lining
- Unlined curtains let in soft daylight.
- Blackout lining blocks light and adds privacy, for indoor and outdoor drapery.
- Sheers are always made unlined so they stay light and airy.
