Which foam is best for a sofa that doubles as a bed?
If your back cushions are only for leaning against, HD36-R with a Dacron wrap feels soft and inviting, and Super Soft gives an even deeper sink. If guests also lie on or against them when the bed is pulled out, a firmer Lux-R core holds its shape better night after night. Tell us how the sofa is used and we will help you choose.
CoversCan I just replace the covers?
Often, yes. If the back cushion foam still springs back but the fabric is worn or you want a new color, order covers only and slide your existing inserts in. Every cover has a zipper. Note that on many FRIHETEN versions the seat and chaise upholstery is fixed to the frame, so we focus on the loose cushions and add-on pieces rather than the frame itself.

Are these official IKEA cushions?
No. Fabrica Kraft makes custom cushions and covers to your measurements so they fit your IKEA furniture. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by IKEA.
Can you make a topper for the storage chaise?
Yes. Use the custom cushion builder with the chaise’s width and length. Ties in matching fabric are standard; Velcro is available on request.
Will the new back cushions be firmer than the originals?
That is up to you. Lux-R is firm, HD36-R is medium and Super Soft is plush. A Dacron wrap softens the top of any of them.
Is your foam certified?
Yes. Our foam is CertiPUR-US certified.
How long does it take?
Standard shapes take 2–3 weeks. Ultraleather is made to order in 8–12 weeks.
