Sunbrella fabric is solution-dyed acrylic: the color is added to the fiber before it is spun, rather than printed on the surface. That is why it holds its color in direct sun and weather. We fill the covers with your choice of High Density, Luxury, Dry Fast or Super Soft foam.

Standard Sunbrella fabric is water-repellent, not waterproof: it resists rain, dries quickly and resists mildew. For cushions that stay wet, choose Sunbrella Rain fabric or Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl, and pair it with Dry Fast foam so water drains through.

Olefin (polypropylene) is lighter and usually cheaper, and it dries fast. Sunbrella acrylic feels softer, holds its color longer in strong sun, and most Sunbrella fabrics carry a five-year limited warranty. They cost more upfront, but they fade less, clean with diluted bleach and are covered by a five-year fabric warranty, so you replace them less often. Over several seasons, Sunbrella cushions usually cost less per year than cheaper cushions that need replacing.

For most stains, brush off loose debris, then mix one cup of mild soap with one gallon of warm water, sponge the cushion, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. For tougher stains, Sunbrella fabric is bleach-cleanable, which means a diluted bleach solution will not damage the fabric or strip the color.

Most Sunbrella fabrics carry a five-year limited warranty from the manufacturer. How long a cushion lasts outdoors depends on sun, climate and care; choosing Dry Fast foam and bringing cushions in during long wet spells helps them last longer.

Yes. Every Sunbrella cushion is made to your measurements. Send the seat depth, width and thickness (and back height for back cushions) with your quote. We also make trapezoid, rounded-corner, triangle, round and half-round, L-shaped, T-shaped and bolster cushions.

Every cushion is cut to within ¼″ (maximum ±1″) of your measurements. Measure the foam edge to edge, not the old cover.

Most orders ship in 2–3 weeks. Custom shapes can take longer, and rush production is available at extra cost.

Covers and foam are made in different facilities, so they can ship separately. Foam arrives vacuum-packed and returns to full size within 12–18 hours of unpacking.
