How to measure a piano bench
Measure the width and depth of the bench top, edge to edge. If the corners are rounded, note how far the curve starts from each corner. For a storage bench with a lift-up lid, measure only the lid.
Choosing the foam
- High Density: medium feel for everyday seats, benches and sofas
- Lux foam: firm, best for dining seats 1–3″ thick and heavy daily use
- Super Soft: soft, for back cushions only, never seats
- Dacron wrap (add-on): a softer, rounder edge for sofa and window seat cushions
Indoor fabrics
Choose from Warwick upholstery (Australian, made for indoor furniture), velvet, Warwick faux leather and Sunbrella for homes with kids, pets or sun-filled rooms. Not sure about a color? Order swatches first.
Questions about piano bench cushions
How thick should a piano bench cushion be?
Most pianists prefer 1″ to 2″. A thicker cushion raises your seat and changes your reach to the keys, so check your playing height before ordering.
Which foam is best for a piano bench?
Lux foam is firm and stays supportive for long practice sessions, even at 1″ thick.
Will a cushion fit an adjustable bench?
Yes. Give us the size of the top, and ask for ties if the bench has a frame to tie around.
Can I match the cushion to my room?
Yes. Order swatches to see the colors next to your piano before you choose.
