Why Fabrica Kraft

A workroom that works the way your projects do

Built from your drawings

Any rectangle, chaise, L- or T-shape, window seat or banquette. Send a plan, a paper template or an old cover and we make it to match, within ½ inch of the approved spec.

Nothing is cut until you sign off

Every order gets a spec sheet listing dimensions, fabric, foam, zipper placement, piping and ties. You approve it, then we start. It's the step that saves reorders.

Trade pricing on every job

Apply once for a trade account. After that, each project is quoted against your brief rather than retail prices, so your margin is clear before you present to the client.

Fabrics clients recognize

Sunbrella for anything that sees sun or spills, Warwick and velvet for interiors, Ultraleather and Gabriel for contract work. Every Sunbrella piece carries a Sunbrella x Fabrica Kraft tag.

Buyer’s guide

Specifying custom cushions and drapery: a working guide for designers

What to put in the brief

A complete brief gets a complete quote back the same day. For each piece, include:

  • Finished width, depth and thickness in inches, measured seam to seam
  • Shape: rectangle, chaise, L, T, trapezoid or a drawing for anything else
  • Fabric and colorway, or the look you are after if you want options
  • Foam: Lux seat foam, Dryfast for outdoor, or Super Soft for backs only
  • Details: piping, ties or Velcro, zipper side, and any hinge on chaise cushions
  • Quantity and the date it has to be installed

For curtains, give the rod width and the finished drop. We make panels at twice the rod width, and anything wider than 52 inches gets a center seam.

Choosing a fabric by room

Match the fabric to how the room is used, not just how it looks.

  • Sun, water or kids: Sunbrella. It is solution-dyed, mold and mildew resistant and machine washable, and it comes with a 5-year fabric warranty.
  • Rain or boats: Sunbrella Rain or the marine collections, which are waterproof, or Horizon marine vinyl.
  • Formal interiors: Warwick or velvet. Beautiful indoors, but neither is water repellent.
  • Dining and bar seating: Ultraleather wipes clean with soap and water.

Our guide to specifying outdoor upholstery goes deeper on UV and wear.

Getting comfort and shape right

Most seat, back and window seat cushions sit between 3 and 5 inches thick. Our Lux seat foam is 1.8 lb density with a 50 lb ILD, which reads as firm. A Dacron wrap adds about ¼ inch and gives a softer, fuller crown. Super Soft foam is for back cushions only.

If your client is unsure about firmness, order one piece of foam first and let them sit on it. Foam is cut to order, so it can't be swapped after delivery.

Timelines and how to plan installs

Production takes 2–3 weeks from spec approval for in-stock fabrics, and 8–12 weeks for Ultraleather and Gabriel. Rush production and express shipping are available for an extra charge. If anything is going to run late, we tell you before the date.

Covers and foam may ship separately. Foam arrives vacuum-packed and needs 12–18 hours to recover, so leave a day between delivery and the install or photo shoot.

How it works

From your brief to your door

  1. 01

    Send your brief

Sizes, quantities, fabric ideas and your deadline. Photos, drawings or old covers all work. We reply the same day during business hours.

  2. 02

    Approve the spec and quote

You get a spec sheet with every dimension and option, plus a project quote. Nothing is cut until you sign off. Swatches are $6 each if you want to see the fabric first.

  3. 03

    We make it

A deposit starts production, which takes 2–3 weeks (8–12 for Ultraleather and Gabriel). Rush production is available. If anything slips, you hear from us before the date, not after.

  4. 04

    Delivered, tracked and insured

The balance is due before shipping. Every parcel is tracked and insured. Covers and foam may arrive separately, and foam needs 12–18 hours to expand once unpacked.

Seat foam is our CertiPUR-US certified Lux foam (1.8 lb density, 50 lb ILD). Outdoor and marine cushions can use quick-draining Dryfast foam. For commercial spaces with fire-code requirements, ask us for the fabric maker's published flammability test results for the fabric you choose. Full cleaning steps are in our FAQs.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Can't find your answer? Email business@fabricakraft.com or call +1 302-803-5171.

Do you offer a trade discount for interior designers?

Yes. Once your trade account is approved, every project is quoted at trade rates against your brief. We don't publish a fixed percentage because pricing depends on fabric, size and quantity.

Is there a minimum order?

No. You can order a single bench cushion or outfit a whole property.

Can you match an existing cushion or work from a drawing?

Yes. Send dimensioned drawings, a paper template or the old cover, and we'll make the new piece to match within ½ inch of the approved spec.

Can I supply my own fabric (COM)?

Yes. Email us your sizes first so we can tell you how many yards to send. Our fabric warranty does not cover customer-supplied fabric.

Can you ship directly to my client or job site?

Yes. Complete cushions ship to the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, and covers ship worldwide. Standard shipping is free, and every parcel is tracked and insured.

Which flammability standards do your fabrics meet?

Sunbrella upholstery fabrics are tested to Cal TB 117-2013, NFPA 260 and UFAC Class I. Ultraleather is tested to Cal TB 117, NFPA 260, UFAC, FMVSS 302 and ASTM E84 (adhered) Class A. Warwick fabrics are tested to the Australian standard AS/NZS 1530.3, and ranges such as Ronan, Dion and Beachcomber score 0 for spread of flame; for US jobs that require Cal TB 117 or NFPA 260, specify Sunbrella or Ultraleather. Gabriel varies by fabric. We send the maker's test reports with every quote, and can quote Sunbrella Exceed FR where NFPA 701 drapery is required. See our fire safety and flammability standards.

How do payments work?

A deposit starts production and the balance is due before shipping.
