FAQs
Quick answers about orders, shipping, fabrics, foam and custom work.
Orders & payment
How much do custom cushions cost?
Custom cushions start from $123. The exact price depends on size, thickness, shape, fabric and extras such as piping or ties. Enter your measurements in the builder on any product page and the price updates instantly, before you add anything to your cart.
New customers get 10% off their first order. Military, first responders, healthcare workers, teachers and students get 25% off through our American Heroes program. We also offer a price match guarantee.
Is there a minimum order?
No. You can order a single cushion or a full set, and there is no minimum order quantity for business orders either.
Will I see my cushion specs before you start cutting?
Yes. Every custom order gets a spec sheet with your measurements and options. We ask you to approve it before any fabric or foam is cut, so you can catch a wrong measurement before it becomes a cushion.
Can I get my order faster?
Yes. We offer rush production and express shipping for an additional charge. Email care@fabricakraft.com with your order details and the date you need your cushions by, and we'll confirm the timing and cost.
Can I cancel my order?
Because every cushion is made to your measurements, orders generally can't be cancelled once placed. In some cases, depending on the quantity and shape of your order, we may be able to make an exception.
If you need to cancel or change something, email care@fabricakraft.com with your order number as soon as possible.
I have a special requirement the builder doesn't show. What should I do?
Email us at care@fabricakraft.com with your measurements, photos or a sketch. We handle thicker cushions, unusual shapes, special zipper or tie positions and larger projects by quote.
How quickly will you reply to my email?
We aim to reply to every email within 24 hours, and messages sent during business hours usually get an answer the same day. Write to care@fabricakraft.com or call +1 302-803-5171. A real person on our team will get back to you.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payments are processed securely by our payment partners.
Is buying online safe?
Yes. Every page of our checkout uses SSL encryption, and card details are handled by our payment partners, not stored by us. If you shop on a shared computer, sign out and close the browser when you're done.
Why is the price for an item different from when I added it to the shopping cart?
Prices can change, including temporary discounts ending. The price shown in your cart at checkout is the price you will be charged.
How do I know my order was processed correctly?
You'll receive an order confirmation email with all your details. A second email with tracking follows when your order ships.
Will you tell me if my order is delayed?
Yes. We promise a lead time of 2–3 weeks for custom cushions, and if anything is going to delay your order, we'll tell you in advance, not after the date has passed. You'll also get a confirmation email when you order and a tracking email when your order ships.
How can I delete my account?
Email our customer service team at care@fabricakraft.com and we'll delete it for you.
Shipping & delivery
How long do custom cushions take?
Custom cushions are made to order in 2–3 weeks, and we often finish sooner. If there's ever a delay, we'll let you know in advance. Fabrics we don't keep in stock, such as Ultraleather and Gabriel, take 8–12 weeks. Need them sooner? Ask about rush production and express shipping.
Covers and foam are made at different locations and ship separately. Foam is vacuum-packed so it arrives without creases.
My foam arrived vacuum-packed. How long does it take to expand?
Unpack the foam, lay it flat and let it recover for 12–18 hours, depending on its size. Larger and thicker pieces take longer. Once it has fully expanded, slide it into the cover.
Which countries do you ship to?
Complete cushions (cover and foam) ship to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. We work with foam suppliers in each of those countries, so foam doesn't travel across oceans.
Cushion covers only ship worldwide.
Where will my order ship from?
Your cover and foam may arrive in separate parcels from different places:
- Foam for US orders ships from within the US.
- Covers in our US fabric collections, including most Sunbrella, mostly ship from our warehouse in Waukegan, Illinois.
- Covers in our European and French fabric collections are made and shipped from our production unit in India.
Your tracking emails show where each parcel is coming from.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on all orders and is applied automatically at checkout. Express shipping is available for an extra charge.
Do I need to pay customs fees?
For orders outside the USA, Fabrica Kraft covers duties and customs fees for most delivery countries. We do not cover duties for: Andorra, Armenia, American Samoa, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Belarus, Central African Republic, Cook Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, France (overseas islands), Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Kiribati, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Marshall Islands, Mongolia, Northern Mariana Islands, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Solomon Islands, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Tonga, Tuvalu, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu and Samoa.
Which carriers do you use?
We ship with USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Aramex and Royal Mail, depending on where your order is going and where each part ships from. Express shipping goes via DHL.
Some deliveries need a signature. For DHL shipments you can also choose to collect your parcel from a DHL Access Point.
How can I track my order?
When your order ships, you'll get an email with a tracking link. You can also contact the carrier directly with your tracking number.
Can I delay the shipment of my order?
Yes. Call us at +1 302-803-5171 or email care@fabricakraft.com and we'll arrange a later ship date.
Is my order insured in transit?
Yes. Every order is covered by InsureShield® Shipping Insurance from UPS Capital against loss or damage while with the carrier, subject to the policy's terms and limits. It does not cover delivery delays.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Send a photo of the damage to care@fabricakraft.com and we'll arrange a free replacement.
What if my order is lost?
Let us know within 14 days of the estimated delivery date. We'll remake and reship your order at no cost to you.
I haven't received my order. What should I do?
Open a claim with the carrier and email us at care@fabricakraft.com. Delivery claims must be made within 14 working days of the delivery date; after that we can't claim a lost parcel.
Products & custom work
Can I buy just the cover, just the foam, or both together?
Any of the three. Choose:
- Cover only – if you're reusing your existing foam.
- Foam only – custom-cut replacement foam for your existing covers.
- Complete cushion – a new cover with new foam.
Throw pillows come as a cover only or with a microfiber fill.
Can you make replacement cushions for my couch or sofa?
Yes. Follow our guide on how to measure couch cushions for replacement, then enter your sizes in the builder. Our team is happy to help if you get stuck.
For odd shapes or sizes, you can send us your old cover or a paper template and we'll make the new cushion to match. Email care@fabricakraft.com before sending anything so we can tell you where to post it.
Which fabrics can I choose from?
- Sunbrella – solution-dyed acrylic for outdoor and high-use indoor cushions. In stock.
- Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl – for boats and wet areas.
- Warwick – Australian upholstery fabrics for indoor use only. In stock.
- Velvet – indoor. In stock.
- Ultraleather and Gabriel – made to order by quote, 8–12 weeks.
- Genuine and faux leather – indoor cushions and covers.
Not sure? Order swatches before you buy (see below).
Is your Sunbrella fabric genuine?
Yes. Every Sunbrella product we make carries a Sunbrella x Fabrica Kraft collaboration tag, so you can see that your cushion is made from genuine Sunbrella fabric.
Can I send my own fabric?
Yes, of course. Before you buy or send anything, email care@fabricakraft.com with your cushion sizes so we can tell you exactly how many yards your project needs.
Please note that our fabric warranty doesn't cover fabric supplied by customers.
Which fabric is best for outdoor cushions?
Sunbrella. It is solution-dyed, so the color runs through the fiber instead of sitting on the surface, which is why it resists fading in strong sun. Sunbrella fabrics are also mold and mildew resistant, and Sunbrella upholstery fabrics carry Sunbrella's own 5-year limited fabric warranty. For boats or cushions that get soaked often, choose Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl.
Warwick and velvet are indoor fabrics and shouldn't be used outside.
Are your cushions waterproof? Can they get wet?
- Most Sunbrella fabrics are water and stain repellent. Rain beads up and rolls off, but they are not fully waterproof, so a heavy soaking can still get through to the foam.
- Sunbrella Rain and Sunbrella marine collections are waterproof. Choose these for cushions that stay outside in the rain or are used on boats.
- Other fabrics, such as Warwick, Gabriel and velvet, are neither waterproof nor water repellent and are meant for indoor use.
For outdoor cushions that may get wet, pair your fabric with Dryfast foam, which drains water and dries quickly.
How do I clean my cushion covers?
Follow the fabric maker's official care instructions for your fabric. Always blot spills right away, test any cleaner on a hidden spot first, and never scrub hard.
Sunbrella (machine washable)
- Remove the foam and close the zipper.
- Machine wash on the delicate cycle in cold water with a normal amount of mild laundry detergent.
- Air dry only. Don't use a dryer or a steamer.
- For spot cleaning without removing the cover, mix ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water, work it in with a sponge or very soft brush, rinse thoroughly and air dry.
Warwick
- Vacuum weekly on low suction.
- Spot clean with plain water and mild soap (a powdered enzyme detergent is preferred), then rinse off all residue. Don't scrub or soak the fabric.
- Warwick recommends keeping covers on the cushion rather than washing or dry cleaning them separately, and an annual professional clean using warm water extraction no hotter than 30°C (86°F).
Ultraleather
- Clean regularly with mild soap and water, rinse with clean water and air dry.
- For food, drink and similar stains, use an alcohol-based cleaner or a 5:1 water-to-bleach solution. For ballpoint ink, use rubbing alcohol, then rinse and wipe dry.
Gabriel
- Vacuum weekly with a soft brush attachment.
- Blot spills, then rub gently with a white cloth, lukewarm water and a small amount of pH-neutral dish detergent. Finish by rinsing with plain water.
- Avoid detergents with bleach, soaking the fabric, and hard rubbing.
Velvet and leather covers should be professionally cleaned.
How do I remove mold and mildew from outdoor cushions?
Sunbrella fabric resists mold and mildew, but dirt and humid weather can still let it grow on the surface. Sunbrella's official method:
- Mix 1 cup bleach and ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of water.
- Spray the whole area and let it soak in for 15 minutes.
- Clean the area with a sponge, clean towel or very soft brush.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap and bleach, then air dry.
Keep bleach away from any non-Sunbrella fabric. To prevent mildew, don't leave cushions wet or covered, and store them somewhere dry and well ventilated. For cushions that often get wet, choose our Dryfast foam, which drains water and has an antimicrobial treatment.
Do you offer fabric and leather swatches?
Yes. Swatches are $6 each and available for every fabric and leather we sell. Order swatches here or email care@fabricakraft.com.
Colors on screen can look different from the real fabric because of monitor settings, lighting, photography and dye lots. We strongly recommend ordering a swatch first. If you order without one, you accept that small color differences are possible; we don't refund or replace orders for on-screen color differences alone.
Which foam should I choose?
- Lux foam – our standard seat foam. 1.8 lb/ft³ density with a 50 lb ILD (firm), CertiPUR-US certified, with a typical life of 5–8 years. Good for seats, benches, window seats and sofa cushion replacement.
- Dryfast (reticulated) foam – for outdoor and marine use. 1.8 lb/ft³ density with a 60 lb ILD. Its wide open cells drain water and dry quickly instead of soaking it up, and it has an antimicrobial treatment. Typical life is 5–8 years.
- Super Soft foam – for back cushions only. 1.2 lb/ft³ density with a 12 lb ILD. It's too soft to support a seat.
You can add a Dacron wrap to any foam. It adds about ¼″ and gives the cushion a softer, rounder, fuller look.
Is your foam CertiPUR-US certified?
Yes. Our Lux seat foam, used for US orders, is CertiPUR-US certified, which means it is independently tested for content, emissions and durability and made without PBDE flame retardants.
What if the foam feels too firm? Can I swap it?
Because every foam insert is cut to order for your cushion, it can't be swapped after delivery. If you're unsure which feel is right for you, talk to our customer service team at care@fabricakraft.com before ordering, or order a single foam piece first to test it.
A Dacron wrap also gives any foam a slightly softer surface.
What thickness should I choose for seat, back and window seat cushions?
3 to 5 inches is the standard range for seat cushions, back cushions and window seats. If you're replacing existing cushions, measuring the old ones is the easiest guide.
How thick can my cushion be?
The builder goes up to 8 inches. For anything thicker, email your measurements to operation@fabricakraft.com and we'll quote it.
What is the largest cushion you can make in one piece?
Our foam can be cut in a single piece up to 92 inches long. Covers over 52 inches in length or depth get a wrap-around zipper to make them easier to take off.
Can you make unusual shapes?
Yes. Besides rectangles, we make chaise, L-shape, T-shape and window-seat cushions. For any shape the builder doesn't cover, send us a paper template or a drawing with measurements at care@fabricakraft.com. We confirm any price difference once we've seen your template.
How do I measure a hinged chaise cushion?
Measure the seat length and the back length separately, then add them together for the total length. The zipper goes on the hinged side. Our measuring guides walk through chaise, window seat, couch and boat cushions step by step.
Are the covers removable, and where does the zipper go?
Yes. Every cushion and pillow cover has a durable YKK zipper in white or black with matching thread. Zippers usually run along the longest side unless you ask otherwise. Bench cushions can have an edge-to-edge zipper, and chaise cushions have the zipper on the hinged side. Covers over 52" in length or depth get a 2–3 inch wrap-around for easier removal.
Do you offer piping?
Yes, as an option. Piping (welting) gives a tailored edge and adds about ¼″ to each side. Waterproof boat cushions are made without piping.
How do I stop my cushions from sliding?
Add ties when you build your cushion. They're made from the same fabric as your cover and can be placed at the top or middle of the cushion. Velcro is also available on request.
We don't offer non-slip backing, because it would void the fabric warranty and stop the cover from being machine washable.
Do you make boat cushions?
Yes. Choose Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl or our waterproof option, then add Dryfast foam and ties if you need them. We also make custom boat mattresses.
Do you make the foam in-house?
No. We work with trusted local foam suppliers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Cutting foam close to you means faster delivery, lower shipping costs and foam that meets local quality and safety standards.
Where are your cushions made?
- Foam is cut to order by local suppliers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, close to where you live.
- Covers in our US fabric collections, including most Sunbrella, mostly ship from our warehouse in Waukegan, Illinois.
- Covers in our European and French fabric collections are made at our own production unit in India.
Can I customize an item with a company logo?
Several of our products can carry your company logo or monograms. Call +1 302-803-5171 or email care@fabricakraft.com.
If a product is out of stock, when will it be available again?
Our stock is updated regularly. If something you want is unavailable, contact customer service or join the waitlist on the product page.
Can I be notified when an item is back in stock?
Yes. Sign up for the waitlist on the product page and we'll email you when it's available.
Returns
Do your cushions come with a warranty?
Yes. Your cushions are covered by two warranties:
- Fabric: 5 years, provided by our fabric partner. This doesn't apply to fabric supplied by customers.
- Workmanship: 2 years from Fabrica Kraft, covering how your cushion is cut and sewn.
Full terms are on the warranty card included with your order. To make a claim, email care@fabricakraft.com with your order number and photos.
Can I return a custom cushion?
Custom cushions and other made-to-measure items are cut and sewn to your exact specifications, so they can't be returned. That's why we ask you to approve a spec sheet before we cut, and why we recommend ordering swatches first.
If anything arrives damaged, send a photo to care@fabricakraft.com and we'll replace it free.
How accurate are your sizes, and what if my cushion doesn't fit?
Every cushion is precision-cut to the measurements on the spec sheet you approve, with a fabrication tolerance of up to ½ inch (0.50″). A difference within that range is normal for cut foam and hand-sewn covers.
If your cushion measures more than ½ inch off your approved spec, email care@fabricakraft.com with your order number and photos showing a tape measure against the cushion, and our team will review it.
To get the fit right the first time, follow our measuring guides and double-check every dimension on your spec sheet before you approve it.
