Questions about rocking chair cushions

Can I order a seat and back cushion set?

Yes. Order the seat and back as separate cushions in the same fabric so they match. Each is made to its own measurements.

Do you make glider rocker cushions?

Yes. Send the seat and back measurements of your glider, and we make replacement cushions to fit, with ties where you need them.

Can I use these cushions on an indoor rocker?

Yes. Sunbrella fabric is soft enough for indoors and easy to clean, which makes it a good choice for nursery and living room rockers too.

Custom striped porch swing seat and back cushions on a covered front porch

Rocking chairs move, so loose cushions slide. We make custom rocking chair cushions to the exact shape of your rocker, with ties on the seat and back so they stay in place while you rock.

Most rocker seats are wider at the front than the back, and many have rounded front corners. We cut the seat from your front width, back width and depth, and round the corners to match. Back cushions are sized from the seat to the top rail, and can be a separate pad or a one-piece seat-and-back cushion.

Porch rockers live outdoors, so we sew them in Sunbrella fabric, which resists fading and mildew. Choose Dry Fast foam for open porches and High Density foam for covered porches and indoor rockers. 2" to 3" thickness keeps the cushion comfortable without changing how the chair rocks.

Start with Replacement Outdoor Chair Cushions, choose your fabric and add "rocking chair" plus your measurements in the quote notes. For porch swings, see our porch swing cushions.

Rocking Chair Cushion FAQs

Quick answers about sizing, fabrics, foam and delivery.

How do I measure a rocking chair seat? + −

Measure the seat width at the front and at the back, and the depth from front to back. Note any rounded corners and where the arms or spindles meet the seat.

How do the cushions stay on a rocking chair? + −

We add ties at the back corners of the seat and the top of the back cushion. Tell us where the spindles are and we will place the ties to match.

What thickness is best for a rocker? + −

2" to 3" is the most common. Thicker cushions can make the chair feel tippy.

Can I get a matching set for several rockers? + −

Yes. If the rockers are the same, send one set of measurements and the quantity.

Can the cushions stay out on the porch? + −

With Sunbrella fabric and Dry Fast foam, yes. On a covered porch, High Density foam gives a firmer seat.
