About this collection

A porch swing only works if the cushion fits. Too small and it slides. Too big and it bunches at the arms. We make porch swing cushions to the exact size of your swing seat and back, with no minimum order. Choose a seat cushion, a seat-and-back set, or a larger cushion for a daybed swing.

Start with the porch swing cushion builder. For a daybed swing, use the daybed cushion builder, which can include back cushions. Add bolsters for the arms and throw pillows in the same fabric. Need a swing too? Browse our swing beds.

How to measure a porch swing

  • Measure the seat from inside arm to inside arm, and from the front edge to the back.
  • For a back cushion, measure the width and the height from the seat to the top rail.
  • Note where chains or ropes sit so we can notch the cushion around them.
  • Check how the swing hangs. A thicker cushion raises the seat.

Cushions are cut to within ±0.5″ of the size you order.

Choosing foam and thickness

Standard thickness is 3″ to 5″, and we cut up to 8″. Thicker cushions are available by quote at operation@fabricakraft.com. For a swing that stays outside, choose Dry Fast foam. Its open cells let rain drain straight through, so the cushion dries quickly. Indoors or under a covered porch, High Density foam has a medium feel. Back cushions can use Super Soft foam, which is for backs only, never seats. All foam is CertiPUR-US certified and cut in the USA.

Fabrics and ties

Sunbrella is solution-dyed, so it resists fading in full sun, and it comes in 160+ colors. By the water, Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl wipes clean. Ties in matching fabric are standard so the cushion stays put while you swing, with Velcro on request. We do not use non-slip backing. Piping is optional. Order swatches to see colors on your own porch.

Foam only, cover only, or both

Order the complete cushion, a zippered cover only if your foam is still good, or foam only cut to size. Every cover has a zipper so it comes off for cleaning.

Delivery and business orders

Porch swing cushions ship in 2–3 weeks, with free shipping. Rush production and express shipping are available at extra cost. Furnishing a hotel, resort or rental porch? See our pages for hotel and resort cushions and short-term rentals. Sitting nearby? Browse rocking chair cushions.

Porch Swing Cushion FAQs

Quick answers about measuring, foam, weather and delivery.

How do I measure a porch swing for a cushion? + −

Measure the seat from inside arm to inside arm and from the front edge to the back. For a back cushion, measure the width and the height from the seat to the top rail. Note where the chains or ropes sit so we can notch around them.

What thickness is best for a porch swing cushion? + −

Our standard thickness is 3″ to 5″, up to 8″. A thicker cushion raises the seat, so check how your swing hangs and whether the back still sits at the right height.

Can a porch swing cushion stay outside? + −

Yes, with Sunbrella fabric and Dry Fast foam. The open-cell foam lets rain drain through and dry quickly. Fabric has a 5-year warranty from the fabric maker. Bringing cushions in during long wet spells or winter helps them last longer.

Will the cushion stay put when the swing moves? + −

Ties in matching fabric are standard, and Velcro is available on request. We do not use non-slip backing. Tie the cushion to the swing frame or slats so it stays in place.

Do you make cushions for daybed swings? + −

Yes. Use the daybed cushion builder for a cushion cut to the inside size of your frame, with matching back cushions, bolsters and pillows.

Can I order just a cover for my swing cushion? + −

Yes. If the foam still holds its shape, order covers only made to your foam size. Custom products are not returnable, so measure the foam carefully.
