If only part of a cushion has worn out, replace just that part. We make custom cushion covers to the exact size of your existing foam, with a zipper so they come off for cleaning. If the foam is the problem, we cut new foam to fit the covers you already own. There is no minimum order.

How to measure for covers or foam

  • For new covers, measure the foam itself, not the old cover. Covers stretch over time.
  • Measure width, depth and thickness, and note any rounded or angled corners.
  • For new foam, measure the inside of the cover seam to seam, or measure the old foam.
  • Replacing a set? Measure each cushion separately.

Everything is cut to within ±0.5″ of the size you order.

Foam and thickness for your cushion

Standard thickness is 3″ to 5″, and we cut up to 8″. Need thicker? Email operation@fabricakraft.com for a quote. High Density foam has a medium feel for everyday seats. Luxury foam is firm and suits dining seats at 1″ to 3″. Dry Fast foam has open cells for outdoor and marine use, so it drains and dries quickly. Super Soft foam is for back cushions only, never seats. Add a 1″ Dacron wrap for a rounder edge, or use fiber fill for loose back cushions. All foam is CertiPUR-US certified and cut in the USA.

Fabric choices

Outdoors, Sunbrella is solution-dyed, fade resistant and available in 160+ colors, and Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl suits boats. Indoors, choose Warwick, velvet or faux leather. Gabriel and Ultraleather are by quote and take 8–12 weeks. Piping is optional. Compare every fabric on our shop by fabric page, and order swatches before you decide.

Foam only, cover only, or both

You can order a cover only, foam only, or a complete cushion with both. A new cover will not bring back a cushion that has lost its shape, so if the foam has flattened, order new foam too.

Will a new cover fit my old foam? + −

Yes, if you measure the foam itself rather than the old cover. Covers stretch over time. We cut covers to within ±0.5″ of your size. If the foam has flattened, consider new foam too.

Can I order foam only? + −

Yes. We cut foam to your exact size in several firmness levels, with no minimum order. Measure the old foam, or the inside of your cover seam to seam, and tell us how firm you want it.

How do I know whether to replace the foam, the cover or both? + −

If the fabric is worn, stained or faded but the foam holds its shape, replace the cover. If the fabric is fine but the seat has gone flat, replace the foam. If both are tired, order a complete cushion.

Are the covers removable? + −

Yes. Every cover has a zipper so you can take it off for cleaning. Follow the care instructions for your fabric, since each fabric maker has its own.

Can I choose outdoor fabric for an indoor cushion? + −

Yes. Sunbrella works indoors and out, and it is a good choice for sunny rooms. Warwick, velvet and faux leather are made for indoor use. Order swatches to compare.

Is there a warranty on custom covers? + −

Fabric has a 5-year warranty from the fabric maker, and our workmanship has a 2-year warranty. See our warranty page for details. Custom products are not returnable.
