About this collection

A banquette is the seat your household uses most: breakfast, homework, coffee and the occasional spill. We make banquette cushions to the exact size of your built-in seating, from one straight run to a full corner. There is no minimum order, so you can order a single seat or every piece.

Start with the bench cushion builder for straight runs. For a corner, order an L-shaped cushion in one piece, or order each run separately. Angled ends call for a trapezoid cushion. Finish the nook with matching throw pillows.

How to measure a banquette

  • Measure each straight run separately: length along the front edge and depth from the wall to the front.
  • At a corner, measure both runs and note which way the corner turns.
  • If the seat is a lift-up storage lid, measure each lid on its own.
  • For back cushions, measure the width, the height and where the top edge should sit.
  • Angled or curved ends? Send a photo or a paper template with a tape measure in the frame.

Cushions are cut to within ±0.5″ of your size. Measure the gap between the seat and the table too, so the finished height works.

Choosing foam and thickness

For dining seats, choose Luxury foam. It is firm and stays supportive at 1″ to 3″ thick. If your banquette is also a place to lounge, High Density foam has a medium feel at our standard 3″ to 5″ thickness, and we cut up to 8″. Back cushions can use Super Soft foam, which is for backs only, never seats. All foam is CertiPUR-US certified and cut in the USA.

Fabrics for a kitchen banquette

Smooth faux leather and Ultraleather are easy to wipe. Sunbrella is solution-dyed and comes in 160+ colors. Warwick and velvet suit a softer look. Ultraleather and Gabriel are by quote and take 8–12 weeks. Piping is optional, and ties in matching fabric are standard, with Velcro on request. Order swatches to test colors against your cabinets and walls.

Foam only, cover only, or both

Order a complete cushion, a zippered cover only, or foam only. Every cover has a zipper, so it comes off for cleaning.

Delivery and restaurant orders

Banquette cushions ship in 2–3 weeks, with free shipping. Rush production and express shipping are available at extra cost. Outfitting a cafe or restaurant? See our page on banquette and booth cushions for restaurants, or send a bulk enquiry.

Banquette Cushion FAQs

Quick answers about corners, foam, fabric and delivery.

What is the best fabric for a kitchen banquette? + −

Smooth faux leather and Ultraleather wipe clean easily, and Sunbrella is a strong choice for busy households. Warwick and velvet feel softer but suit gentler use. Order swatches to compare before you decide.

Should a corner banquette be one cushion or two? + −

Both work. Two pieces are easier to lift out and fit lift-up storage lids. One L-shaped cushion looks seamless. Tell us how your corner turns and we will help you choose.

How thick should banquette seat cushions be? + −

For a dining banquette, 1″ to 3″ of Luxury foam keeps the seat at a good height for the table. If you want a deeper lounging seat, standard thickness is 3″ to 5″, up to 8″. Check the gap under the table before you order.

Do you make back cushions for banquettes? + −

Yes. Back cushions can use Super Soft foam, which is for backs only, or a fiber fill. Send us the width, height and where the top edge should sit, and we will quote them with your seats.

Will the cushions slide around? + −

We do not use non-slip backing. Instead, ties in matching fabric are standard, and Velcro is available on request.

Can I just replace the covers on my banquette? + −

Yes. If the foam still holds its shape, order covers only cut to your foam size. Covers have zippers, and custom products are not returnable, so measure the foam carefully first.
