A round papasan chair cushion made to the size of your frame, so it fills the bowl instead of sliding around in it. Choose Sunbrella for a covered porch or sunroom that gets weather, or Warwick upholstery fabric for a living room or reading corner.

How to measure a papasan frame

Measure straight across the top rim of the bowl, from outside edge to outside edge, then measure again at a right angle. Use the larger number as the diameter and round up to the nearest ¼″. Most frames come out between 44″ and 52″. If your old cushion still fits well, you can measure it flat instead. More tips are in our measuring guide.

Foam and fabric

A thicker cushion sits higher in the bowl and feels softer to sink into; a thinner one keeps the curve of the frame. A Dacron wrap adds about 1/4″ and a rounder look. Sunbrella fabric is solution-dyed acrylic that resists fading and mildew. Warwick is for indoor use only.

Every cushion is cut to within ±0.5″ of your sizes and most orders ship in 2–3 weeks, with free standard shipping. We send a spec sheet for approval before we cut. Custom cushions are made to order and can't be returned, so check your measurements twice.

Questions about papasan cushions

What size is a papasan cushion?

Most papasan frames measure between 44″ and 52″ across the rim. Measure yours, because frames vary.

How thick should a papasan chair cushion be?

4″ to 6″ suits most frames. Thicker feels softer; thinner follows the curve of the bowl.

Can I use a papasan cushion outside?

Choose Sunbrella for a covered porch or sunroom. Warwick is for indoor use.

Can I return a papasan cushion?

Custom cushions are final sale, but they are covered by our fit guarantee and warranty.

How to measure

Seat cushions

Measure the seat side to side and front to back, between arms if there are any. Round up to the nearest ¼″. For a tapered seat, measure the front and back widths.

Back cushions

Measure from the seat to where you want the cushion to stop. Width is usually the same as the seat.

Chaise and Adirondack

Measure the full length laid flat, then the back section from the top to the hinge point where the back rest bends.

Covers only

Measure your foam, not the old cover. We cut the cover to fit snugly.

Pillows

Order the cover the size of your insert. Our micro-fibre inserts are sized to fill the cover.

Curtains

Panel width: add the panels up to 1½–2× the opening. Length: from the rod (or top of the tab) to where the hem should land.

Back cushions: Super Soft for a plush lean-back or High density (HD36-R) for a firmer back indoors; Dryfast outdoors. Super Soft is not used for seats.

Do I save if I order more?

Yes. The more you order, the less each piece costs: 2+, 4+, 8+ and 16+ unlock lower prices, shown above the Add to cart button.

Can I order just the cover?

Yes. Choose “Cover only” and measure your foam.

Can I leave it outside?

Choose Outdoor: Sunbrella fabric with Dryfast foam, which drains and dries fast.

Is the price final?

Yes for standard shapes, with free shipping included. There is nothing more to pay on delivery: we pay all Canadian import duty and GST/HST. Unique shapes are confirmed once we have your template.
