A double chaise is built for two, so off-the-shelf cushions rarely fit its width, length and fold point. We make each double chaise cushion to your frame, with the hinge where your back rest lifts.

How to order

  • One wide hinged cushion: open the chaise lounge cushion builder and choose Double under Chaise style. It takes widths of 36″ to 84″ and lengths of 60″ to 84″.
  • Back rest, seat and leg rest: choose 2-break in the same builder for a cushion that folds twice.
  • Wide seat with two separate backs: order the seat in the daybed cushion builder and each back at its own size. Want the backs joined to the seat? Send us a photo and your measurements and we will quote it.
  • Refresh only: zippered covers only for the foam you already have.

How to measure a double chaise

  • Width: across the frame, inside the arms if it has them.
  • Length: the full length from the foot to the top of the back.
  • Back length: from the fold to the top, so we can place the hinge.
  • Thickness: measure the old cushion at its thickest point.
  • Split backs: measure each back on its own: width and height.

Rounded corners are an option in the builder. For a strongly curved shape, send a photo first.

Thickness, foam and fabric

Double chaise cushions go up to 12″ thick; anything over 6″ is made from two foam layers bonded together. For outdoor and pool loungers, choose Dryfast foam, which drains straight through, with Sunbrella fabric, which is water-repellent and stain-resistant. Under cover, HD36-R gives a medium feel. Every cover has a zipper, and you can add ties to keep the cushion in place.

Delivery and fit

Standard shapes ship in 2–3 weeks with free shipping; template shapes take 5–6 weeks. We cut most cushions to within ¼″ of your measurements; our maximum tolerance is ±1″ on length and width (±1½″ for cushions of 6 sq ft or more) and ±½″ on thickness, and if a cushion arrives outside that, we remake it free.

My double chaise has two separate backs. Can you make that? + −

Yes. Order the seat as one wide cushion and the two backs as separate cushions, each at its own size. We can also join the backs to the seat cushion; send us a photo and your measurements and we will quote it.

How thick can a double chaise cushion be? + −

Up to 12 inches. Cushions over 6 inches thick are made from two foam layers bonded together. Pool loungers usually take 3 to 4 inches; indoor double chaises and daybed-style loungers often take 4 to 6.

Which foam should I choose for an outdoor double chaise? + −

Dryfast foam for a chaise that gets rained on or sits by the pool: its open cells let water drain straight through. Under cover, HD36-R gives a medium feel.
