Patio chairs usually outlast their cushions. When the fabric fades or the foam goes flat, you do not need new furniture: we make custom chair cushions to fit the frames you already own, whether they are teak dining chairs, wrought iron bistro chairs, club chairs, high-back chairs, rockers or gliders.

Order a seat cushion, a back cushion, or a one-piece seat-and-back cushion. Many dining chairs are wider at the front than at the back, so we cut tapered (trapezoid) seats from your front and back widths. We can also add notches around chair posts and ties at the back corners so the cushion stays put in the wind.

Every cushion is sewn in Sunbrella fabric, a solution-dyed acrylic that holds its color in strong sun and resists mildew. For chairs that stay outside all season, choose Dry Fast foam: its open-cell structure drains water straight through, so the cushion dries quickly after rain.

Dining chairs usually take a 2" to 3" seat cushion. Deep club chairs and lounge chairs take 4" to 6", often with a fiber-filled back cushion for a softer lean. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the chair with a tape measure in frame and we will suggest a thickness.

How do I measure a patio chair cushion? + −

Measure your old cushion seam to seam: width across the front, width across the back, and depth from front to back. For a back cushion, measure from the seat to the top of the frame. If there is no old cushion, measure the inside of the frame.

What thickness should a dining chair cushion be? + −

Most dining chair cushions are 2–3″ thick so the table height still works. Lounge and deep-seat chairs usually take 4–6″.

Is the seat and back one item? + −

No. Seat and back cushions are ordered as separate items, so you can choose a different thickness or foam for each.

Which foam is best for outdoor chairs? + −

Dry Fast foam is best for cushions left outside, because water drains through it and it dries quickly. High Density foam is firmer and works well for covered patios and dining chairs.

Will the cushions stay on the chair? + −

Every chair cushion can have matching fabric ties. Velcro is available on request.

Can you match cushions for any brand of patio furniture? + −

Yes. We make cushions to measurements, so the brand of the chair does not matter. A photo of the chair and the old cushion helps us match the shape.

Can I order covers only? + −

Yes. If your foam is still in good shape, ask for covers only in your quote notes and give us the foam size.

How long does a custom chair cushion take? + −

About 2 weeks for in-stock fabrics and about 4 weeks for other fabrics, and shipping is free.
