A daybed cushion has to fit the frame closely so it doesn't slide or leave gaps at the ends. We make custom daybed cushions to the inside measurements of your daybed, swing bed or cabana, indoors or out: foam cut to size, wrapped in a zippered cover in the fabric you choose.
Start with the daybed cushion builder, which can add matching back cushions. Add round bolsters for the arms and throw pillows in the same fabric. For a corner daybed, choose an L-shaped cushion, and for a hanging bench, a porch swing cushion.
How to measure your daybed
- Measure the inside of the frame where the cushion sits, side to side and front to back.
- If the frame has sides on all four edges, take about ¼″ off each measurement so the cushion drops in without bowing.
- For back cushions, measure from the seat platform to the top of the back rail.
- Clipped corners or cut-outs around posts? Note them in the builder or send us a photo or paper template.
Common daybed and swing bed sizes
- Twin daybed: about 75″ × 39″
- Swing bed: about 74″ × 38″
- Full daybed: about 75″ × 54″
- Cabana or poolside daybed: about 80″ × 60″
These are starting points only. Every cushion is cut to your own measurements, from 10″ up to 84″ in each direction.
Choosing foam and thickness
Most daybed cushions are 4″ to 6″ thick. For outdoor daybeds and swing beds, choose Dry Fast foam: its open cells let rain drain straight through, so the cushion dries quickly. Indoors, high-density foam gives a firm, supportive seat, and a Dacron wrap softens the edges for a fuller look. All foam is CertiPUR-US certified and cut in the USA.
Fabrics for indoor and outdoor daybeds
Outdoors, Sunbrella is solution-dyed, so it resists fading in full sun, and Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl wipes clean by the pool. Indoors, Warwick, velvet and faux leather work well on a guest-room or sunroom daybed. Not sure of a color? Order swatches first.
Foam only, cover only, or both
Order the complete cushion, a zippered cover only to refresh foam you already have, or foam only cut to size. Every cover has a zipper so you can take it off for cleaning.
