Fabric & foam

What works by the pool

Sunbrella fabric: solution-dyed, so the colour goes through the fibre and resists fading in full sun. Most Sunbrella fabrics are water-repellent rather than waterproof, so pair them with Dry Fast foam.
Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl: waterproof and wipeable. The best choice if people sit down straight out of the pool.
Dry Fast foam: open-cell foam that lets water drain straight through, so cushions dry quickly and resist mildew.
Ties: in matching fabric as standard, so lounger cushions stay put in the wind.

Pool-edge pads: what to know

Keep them thin: 2″ to 3″ is comfortable for sitting on stone or concrete coping without feeling bulky. Our standard range is 3″ to 5″, and you can set any thickness in the builder.
Measure the flat area only: measure the length and the depth of the flat surface you sit on, not the rounded lip of the coping.
Split long runs: pads in sections of 36″ to 48″ are easier to lift, rinse and store than one long piece.
Keep them on the deck: pool cushions are made for the deck and the pool edge, not for floating or for use in the water.

FAQ

Questions about pool cushions

Are pool cushions waterproof?

Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl is waterproof. Most Sunbrella fabrics are water-repellent: water beads off, but a wet swimsuit soaks through. Pair any fabric with Dry Fast foam so water drains straight out.

How do I care for pool cushions?

Rinse them with fresh water after heavy splashing or sunscreen, stand them on edge to drain, and store them in the off-season. Sunbrella covers are machine washable.

Can you add a non-slip backing?

No. A non-slip backing traps water and stops the cover being machine washed, so we use ties instead wherever there is a frame to tie to.

Can I order covers only for my existing pool cushions?

Yes. Every builder offers cover only. Give us your foam size and we make zippered covers to fit.

What if a cushion doesn't fit?
