Hanging egg chairs look great on a deck or verandah until the cushion goes flat, fades or stays damp after rain. Replacement egg chair cushions sold in shops usually come in one size, but egg chairs don't. We make egg chair and hanging chair cushions to the exact size and shape of your chair.
Two ways to order
- Round or oval seat cushion: if your chair takes a round seat pad, order a custom round cushion and enter the diameter in millimetres.
- Teardrop or full egg-shaped cushion: choose the unique shape option in the builder and send us a paper template of your old cushion or the chair basket. Template shapes take 5–6 weeks.

How to measure an egg chair cushion
- For a round seat, measure the widest point across the inside of the basket, then again at a right angle. If the two differ by more than about 6 mm, the seat is oval, so use the template option.
- For a teardrop or egg shape, lay paper inside the basket, trace the shape and mark the top and bottom.
- Choose the thickness. Most egg chair seats are 75–125 mm; thicker cushions feel plusher but sit higher in the basket.
- Mark where you want ties.

Common questions
Can I leave an egg chair cushion outside?
Yes, with Sunbrella fabric and quick-dry foam. Bringing it in during long wet spells will make it last even longer.
Can you just make a new cover for my old egg chair cushion?
Yes. Choose cover only and send the measurements or a template of your existing foam.
Do you make cushions for hanging and swing chairs too?
Yes. Hanging pod chairs, swing seats and cocoon chairs are made the same way: a round cushion by diameter, or any other shape from a paper template.
