Sunbrella cushion fabric is solution-dyed acrylic: the colour runs all the way through each fibre, so it resists fading in strong sun and resists mildew. Most Sunbrella upholstery fabrics are water and stain repellent, the Sunbrella Rain and marine ranges are waterproof, and covers are machine washable. Are Sunbrella cushions waterproof?

Most Sunbrella upholstery fabrics are water repellent, not fully waterproof, so light rain beads off. For cushions that get soaked or stay out in wet weather, choose the Sunbrella Rain or marine ranges, which are waterproof, and pair them with Dry Fast foam so water drains straight through.

Can I order custom outdoor cushions in any size?

Which foam should I choose for outdoor cushions?

How do I clean Sunbrella cushions?

Sunbrella covers are machine washable. For everyday spots, brush off dirt and sponge with mild soap and water, then let the cover air dry.

Every order ships free to Canada, and we pay the import duty and GST/HST before it arrives, so there is nothing extra to pay on delivery. Each cushion is made to the exact size you enter in inches, within ¼″ (maximum ±1″), and sewn to order in 2–3 weeks (custom shapes made from your template take 5–6 weeks). Prices are in Canadian dollars. For wet springs and lakeside decks, choose Dry Fast foam so water drains straight through, and store cushions somewhere dry over the winter.

What are Sunbrella outdoor cushions made of? + −

Sunbrella fabric is solution-dyed acrylic: the colour is added to the fibre before it is spun, rather than printed on the surface. That is why it holds its colour in direct sun and weather. We fill the covers with your choice of High Density, Luxury, Dry Fast or Super Soft foam.

Are Sunbrella cushions waterproof? + −

Standard Sunbrella fabric is water-repellent, not waterproof: it resists rain, dries quickly and resists mildew. For cushions that stay wet, choose Sunbrella Rain fabric or Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl, and pair it with Dry Fast foam so water drains through.

Olefin (polypropylene) is lighter and usually cheaper, and it dries fast. Sunbrella acrylic feels softer, holds its colour longer in strong sun, and most Sunbrella fabrics carry a five-year limited warranty. For most stains, brush off loose debris, then mix one cup of mild soap with one gallon of warm water, sponge the cushion, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. For tougher stains, Sunbrella fabric is bleach-cleanable, which means a diluted bleach solution will not damage the fabric or strip the colour.

Can I order covers only, or foam only? + −

Yes. Order Sunbrella cushion covers only to fit foam you already have, or custom foam without a cover.

Can you make replacement covers for my existing cushions? + −

Why did my foam and covers arrive in separate boxes? + −

Covers and foam are made in different facilities, so they can ship separately. Foam arrives vacuum-packed and returns to full size within 12–18 hours of unpacking.

Can I see the fabric first? + −

Yes. Sunbrella swatches are available for a small fee per swatch. Trade customers can ask about free swatches.
