Description

Made for comfort where you lean or lie, not where you sit, Custom Cut Super Soft Inserts use our gentlest foam. It works best for sofa back cushions, mattress toppers, and soft pads for a daybed or reading nook. It is not the right choice for chair seats, so pair it with a firmer foam if you need seating too. A Dacron wrap adds even more plushness and helps the insert fill the cover nicely. Tell us your size and shape, and we will cut your soft foam cushion inserts to order with no minimum.

Foam Types Explained

  1. Super Soft Foam: Best used for the back of sofa cushions and mattress toppers, especially for bed sores. However, it's not recommended for chair or seating cushions. This soft foam, with a lifespan of about 5 years, features a 1.2 lb/ft³ density and a 12lb ILD.

  2. Dacron Wrap: Enhancing foam cushions without compromising support, this polyester fiberfill wrap adds a layer of comfort. It covers the entire cushion with a 1" thick layer of fiberfill, ensuring a snug fit in the cover. Our unique application uses fine upholstery staples that don't damage the foam insert or the cover. Note: When ordering, maintain your cushion measurements as is; the fiberfill wrap ensures a snug, sag-free fit in the cover without needing size adjustments.

How To Order

  • Enter in the dimensions above
  • Please enter dimensions in INCHES
  • Dimensions between 1/4" increments will be rounded up to the nearest 1/4"
  • Do NOT reduce dimensions to compensate for Dacron fiberfill wrap addition.

Foam Thickness and Gluing

The biggest single-piece foam thickness that can be cut is 6". For cushions with a thickness above 6", two pieces of foam need to be bonded together to achieve the correct size.

Up to and including 6": Cushion will be made from a solid piece of foam.

Over 6" up to and including 8": Cushion will be made from two pieces of the same foam that will be glued together. There will be no additional gluing charge in this instance.

Manufacturing Tolerances

Every piece is cut to within ±0.5″ of your measurements. Most orders ship in 2–3 weeks.

How to measure

Seat cushions

Measure the seat side to side and front to back, between arms if there are any. Round up to the nearest ¼″. For a tapered seat, measure the front and back widths.

Back cushions

Measure from the seat to where you want the cushion to stop. Width is usually the same as the seat.

Chaise and Adirondack

Measure the full length laid flat, then the back section from the top to the hinge point where the back rest bends.

Covers only

Measure your foam, not the old cover. We cut the cover to fit snugly.

Pillows

Order the cover the size of your insert. Our micro-fibre inserts are sized to fill the cover.

Curtains

Panel width: add the panels up to 1½–2× the opening. Length: from the rod (or top of the tab) to where the hem should land.

Back cushions: Super Soft for a plush lean-back or High density (HD36-R) for a firmer back indoors; Dryfast outdoors. Super Soft is not used for seats.

Cover only: every product can be ordered as just the cover, cut to your size.

Pillows: soft polyester micro-fibre insert, or cover only.

Dacron wrap: a polyester layer around the foam that rounds the edges and fills the cover. Single or double. All foam is made in the USA.

Can I build something else in this fabric?

Yes. On any fabric page, pick what you are making: cushions, pillows or curtains.

Do I save if I order more?

Yes. The more you order, the less each piece costs: 2+, 4+, 8+ and 16+ unlock lower prices, shown above the Add to cart button.

Can I order just the cover?

Yes. Choose “Cover only” and measure your foam.

Can I leave it outside?

Choose Outdoor: Sunbrella fabric with Dryfast foam, which drains and dries fast.

Is the price final?

Yes for standard shapes: all-inclusive with free shipping. Unique shapes are confirmed once we have your template.

Shipping & Return

Free shipping. Every cushion is made to order in 2–3 weeks; your cover and foam may arrive in separate boxes a few days apart.

Custom products can't be returned unless there is a defect or a manufacturing error. We remake any cushion we get wrong. See our Return Policy or contact us with questions before you order.
