Quick answer These rocking chair cushions are cut and sewn to order to your chair's measurements, as a seat pad on its own or as a matching seat and back set, with ties to keep them in place. Choose Sunbrella for porches and patios or Warwick for indoor rockers. Most orders are made and dispatched in 2–3 weeks, and the price shows instantly in the builder.

What's included

You can build a single seat pad or a seat and back set for the same chair. Every cushion is made to your measurements, within ±0.5 inch. If it lands outside that, we remake it free.

Seat pad: sized to your chair's seat.
Seat and back set: a seat cushion plus a back cushion made to match.
Ties: add ties so the cushion stays put while you rock. Velcro is available on request.

Piping and YKK zippers are also available. Before any fabric or foam is cut, we send you a spec sheet to approve.

How to measure a rocking chair

Seat front width: across the front edge of the seat.
Seat back width: across the back of the seat, where it meets the chair back.
Depth: from the front edge of the seat to the back.
Back height: from the seat up to where you want the back cushion to end.

Indoor or outdoor fabric

For a porch or patio rocker, Sunbrella is the usual choice. It is a solution-dyed acrylic in 160+ colors that resists fading and mildew, and the covers are machine-washable. Browse all Sunbrella outdoor cushions to match the rest of your porch. For a nursery or living room rocker, Warwick fabrics are made for indoor use only. Not sure about a color? Order fabric swatches first. They are $7 each, credited back on a $100+ cushion order within 90 days.

Foam

Seats use our Lux foam, 1.8 lb density and 50 lb ILD, so it is firm and holds its shape. It is CertiPUR-US certified, with a typical life of 5–8 years. Add an optional Dacron wrap for a softer, rounder look; it adds about 1/4 inch. For outdoor rockers, Dryfast reticulated foam drains water and is antimicrobial. Foam is cut to order, so it can't be swapped after delivery.

Delivery and warranty

Most orders are made and dispatched in 2–3 weeks. Rush production and express shipping are available at extra cost. Standard shipping is free, and complete cushions ship to the US, Canada, UK and Australia. Workmanship is covered for 2 years and foam for 3 years. Sunbrella upholstery fabric carries a 5-year mill warranty. Custom orders are final sale, backed by our fit guarantee and warranty.

Questions about rocking chair cushions

Do rocking chair cushions need ties?

We recommend them. A rocking chair moves, and ties stop the seat and back cushions from sliding. You can add ties in the builder, and Velcro is available on request.

What thickness should a rocking chair cushion be?

Typical seat cushions are 3–5 inches thick. The builder goes up to 8 inches.

Can I order a cushion for a nursery glider?

Yes. Measure the seat and back the same way as a rocking chair, and choose an indoor fabric such as Warwick.

Can I order just the covers?

Yes. If your foam is still in good shape, you can order cushion covers only. Covers alone ship worldwide.

How long does it take?

Most orders are made and dispatched in 2–3 weeks. Ultraleather and Gabriel fabrics take 8–12 weeks. Rush production is available at extra cost.

How to measure

Seat cushions

Measure the seat side to side and front to back, between arms if there are any. Round up to the nearest ¼″. For a tapered seat, measure the front and back widths.

Back cushions

Measure from the seat to where you want the cushion to stop. Width is usually the same as the seat.

Chaise and Adirondack

Measure the full length laid flat, then the back section from the top to the hinge point where the back rest bends.

Covers only

Measure your foam, not the old cover. We cut the cover to fit snugly.

Pillows

Order the cover the size of your insert. Our micro-fibre inserts are sized to fill the cover.

Curtains

Panel width: add the panels up to 1½–2× the opening. Length: from the rod (or top of the tab) to where the hem should land.

Back cushions: Super Soft for a plush lean-back or High density (HD36-R) for a firmer back indoors; Dryfast outdoors. Super Soft is not used for seats.

Cover only: every product can be ordered as just the cover, cut to your size.

Pillows: soft polyester micro-fibre insert, or cover only.

Dacron wrap: a polyester layer around the foam that rounds the edges and fills the cover. Single or double. All foam is made in the USA.

Do I save if I order more?

Yes. The more you order, the less each piece costs: 2+, 4+, 8+ and 16+ unlock lower prices, shown above the Add to cart button.

Can I order just the cover?

Yes. Choose “Cover only” and measure your foam.

Can I leave it outside?

Choose Outdoor: Sunbrella fabric with Dryfast foam, which drains and dries fast.

Is the price final?

Yes for standard shapes, with free shipping included. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Unique shapes are confirmed once we have your template.
