Which insert size should I buy?

For a full, plump look, many people choose an insert about 1 inch larger than the cover, for example a 19 × 19 inch insert in an 18 × 18 inch cover. With a firm fibre fill insert, the same size as the cover usually works. Ordering a custom scatter cushion from us? We size the fill to the cover for you.

How to arrange scatter cushions on a bed

  • King bed: three euros across the back, two king sleeping scatter cushions, then one lumbar or two scatter cushions in front.
  • Queen bed: two euros, two queen or standard sleeping scatter cushions, and one lumbar.
  • Full or twin bed: one or two euros, or skip euros and use standard scatter cushions with a single lumbar.

Need a size that isn't standard?

Window seats, daybeds, benches and outdoor sofas often need scatter cushions in sizes no store stocks. We make custom scatter cushions and bolsters to any size, in Sunbrella, Warwick and velvet, as covers only or filled. Need just the fill? Order custom cushion inserts.

Pillow size questions

Is a euro scatter cushion the same as a European pillow?

Yes. In the US both names mean the large 26 × 26 inch square. In parts of Europe, the everyday sleeping scatter cushion is also square, commonly 65 × 65 cm or 80 × 80 cm.

Do euro scatter cushions go on a queen bed?

Yes. Two euros fit across a 60-inch-wide queen bed. A king bed takes three.

What size scatter cushion is best for a sofa?

18 × 18 inches suits most sofas. On a deep sofa or sectional, go up to 20 × 20 or 22 × 22 inches so the scatter cushions don't look lost.

What is the difference between a standard and a queen pillow?

Both are 20 inches wide. A queen scatter cushion is 4 inches longer, 30 inches instead of 26.
