A swing bed (also called a daybed swing or hanging daybed) is a bed-sized swing that hangs from a verandah beam, pergola or stand, with a mattress-style cushion on top. Choosing a swing bed

• Acacia wood, such as the Charleston, is lightweight and warm in tone; the product page lists the rope kit and weight rating.
• Recycled HDPE, such as the Beckett, is made to stay outside all year and ships as a frame, so you add your own cushion.
• Wicker, such as the Sonoma, comes with cushions included.
• Check the hanging height, hardware and weight rating on each product page, and make sure your beam or pergola can carry the load.

Custom cushions for your swing bed

Swing bed cushions are usually 75–125 mm thick, and we cut up to 200 mm. For a swing that stays outside, choose quick-dry outdoor foam, whose open cells let rain drain straight through. Measure the platform from inside edge to inside edge in millimetres and note any chains or ropes at the corners so we can notch around them. Foam for Australian orders is made in Australia.

Questions about swing beds

What size cushion does a swing bed need?

Most swing beds take a single or twin-sized cushion; measure the inside of the platform in millimetres and we cut the cushion to fit, including notches for ropes or chains.

Can a swing bed stay outside in Australia?

Recycled HDPE frames are made to stay outdoors. Wood and wicker last longer under a roof. Use Sunbrella fabric with quick-dry foam, and store or cover cushions in long wet spells.
