What we make for the IKEA KLIPPAN
Why is the KLIPPAN different from most sofas?
Most sofas have separate seat and back cushions, each with its own cover. The KLIPPAN’s cover slips over the arms, back and seat as one piece, and the seat itself is part of the frame. That means there is no single cushion to swap out. Adding a loose seat cushion on top is the most common way to make it plusher, and a pair of back cushions makes the shallow seat feel deeper for lounging.
ComfortWhich foam works for a small loveseat?
For a loose seat cushion on the KLIPPAN, a 3–4″ thickness keeps the seat height comfortable. Choose HD36-R for a medium feel or Lux-R if the loveseat gets heavy daily use, and add a Dacron wrap for a rounded, softer top. Back cushions can use Super Soft foam for a sink-in lean; we never use Super Soft in seats.
