What is the difference between a full-grain leather desk mat and a bonded leather one? + −

Full-grain leather comes from the top layer of the hide and keeps its natural grain, so it lasts for decades and develops a unique patina over time. Bonded leather is made from scraps with polyurethane and usually peels within a year or two. All FabricaKraft desk mats are made from full-grain leather.

What sizes do leather desk mats come in? + −

Standard sizes are - 10" X 12", 12" X 24", 12" X 36", 15" X 30", 15" X 36", 15" X 42", 18" X 28", 18" X 42", 18" X 46" which work for most office and standing desks. If you have a built-in desk, a large executive workstation, or a desk with unusual dimensions, we can make a custom size leather desk mat for you.

Will a leather desk mat damage my desk? + −

No, a full-grain leather mat actually protects your desk from scratches caused by keyboards, mice, pens, and laptop feet. Spills can be wiped off the leather instead of soaking into the wood. The mat stays flat and does not curl.

How do I clean and care for a leather desk mat? + −

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. For daily cleaning, use a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust and crumbs. To keep the leather soft, apply a leather-safe conditioner two or three times a year. Avoid using alcohol-based cleaners and keep the mat out of direct sunlight, as both can dry the leather out faster than usual.

Can I get a leather desk mat embossed or personalized? + −

Yes. Initials, names, and small monograms can be embossed on our leather desk mats during the cut-and-finish stage. Custom embossing requests are placed at the time of ordering, with a short additional lead time depending on the design. Speak to our business team for custom orders.
